River Blyth - The former Blyford Lock is the tidal limit of the River Blyth which was straightened when it was made navigable up to Halesworth in the eighteenth century. The Parish boundary, which predates the navigation, follows the old course of the river and is shown by a dotted line.
On hot summer days, the former Blyford Lock is the informal swimming pool for the youth of the village who use the bridge parapet as a diving platform and as a perch for sitting-out. A former hump back bridge gave headroom for wherries (with lowered masts) which navigated the waterway.
The Wenhaston Commons Group - The Wenhaston Commons Group, volunteer people of the village and district, regularly carry out conservation work on the commons and heaths and keep open the many footpaths of the area.
